locals avoid this place like the plague, because they are notorious for outrageously bad service, and neither the food nor the beer are good enough to tolerate such an unfriendly atmosphere. most of us make fun of this place...

With only 4 bees on tap the selection wasn't great. All 4 were some what thin and could have had more flavor. Food was ok but nothing special. It is the only brew pub in town though, so if you want local beer this is it.

The food was pub fare, and so-so by that standard, and expensive. Service was horrible, took 20 min. for a beer they forgot parts of the order 2 times. They had 3 beers( they said they might have more in a month or so can you say summer toursit season..) which 2 were good, but they had no to go growlers... this was 4th of July weekend and I wanted to BBQ at the RV with a nice Blonde they had on tap... Just a bummer maybe they'll pick it up in time for next summer rush...

the food and beer are quite good. Comments about the owner gouging tourists are right on. The owner is an aboslute a'hole, and it totally negates any positive from the experience. STAY AWAY.

Unfortunately, when we happened across this brewpub while heading into Yellowstone they were yet to open for the day. However, the bartender was nice enough to poor me a growler of the Smoke Jumper Rauchbier. I have to admit I'm not too familiar with the style, but of the few I've had this was the tastiest (some taste like they simply add liquid smoke, but not this one). They had a great selection on tap (largely German styles). Have to come back later in the year before I put up a more comprehensive review.

The beers are decent, but this place is in "gouge tourist" mode year-round. What insane manager/brewer demands $7.00 for a souvenir pint glass? Pints are $4 a piece and there are no free samples. I didn't get to try the food though it looked good. The Jim Bridger Marzen is their fall seasonal Oktoberfest and is quite good. The Lone Mountain Altbier was okay, the Wapiti Wheat very drinkable and probably the best of the three.

Had 3 beers: Hefeweizen-more like a Belgium White but very good. Alt-nice for the style Helles-lighter style but well done.
Out of the way for any normal beer tour but worth stopping if in the Yellowstone area.

Good examples of german lagers, but the Hefe was not to style - overpowering hoppy character. Pizzas are tasty and the service makes it worth the trip.

We visited Bullwinkles the first night and weren't impressed. We stumbled upon this brewery on our way out of the hotel. Beers were super and the waiter was very friendly to our family. It was the best restaurant experience of our 6 day road trip!

Award winning beers ( at a number of Beer Festivals) make Wolf Pack a "must visit" when in the Yellowstone area. The #10 Kolsch, winner of the silver medal at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival has been described by people from Cologne, Germany as "just like back home" and I see why. Smooth and creamy with a hint of noble hops, #10 is quite refreshing after a day of wandering the Yellowstone Basin. The Lone Mountain Alt and Old Snaggletooth Swarzbier also are true to the flavors of the European versions of these beer styles. The head brewer, Dan is passionate about brewing and fun to talk about beer with. Probst!

We have visited many different microbreweries through out the US and haven't found one yet that has the quality of beer, food, service or atmosphere as Wolf Pack Brewery has. We have returned several times since our first visit to them(6 times in 2002) and already have plans for a trip out there in February and also in March of this year. I just wish that they were located closer to where we live.

Visited in October '02 in their new building. Had five beers on tap. We tasted three and all were outstanding. Food is regular pub fare but very good . Gotta stop here if on the way to Yellowstone.

Beer was really good and the staff is great! Food was good, but has much chance for improvement once the pub moves to it's new location. Hope to be able to visit it again soon!

I tried the Lone Mountain Alt on the slopes of Lone Mountain in Big Sky, Montana. I would call it good, with a copper-to-amber color, thin body, and mild malt flavor.
